Who we are ...
Vaera Journeys is all about inspiring women in inspiring places. Using travel as an organic backdrop, we help women to explore the life projects that give them purpose. We encourage transformation through travel in order to take your creative or professional goals to the next level. With informative Mastermind Sessions with already-successful mentors, one-on-one business coaching, and networking with likeminded women, use travel as your muse and as common ground to form a collaborative community.
We keep each Journey intimate, with only 10 women, to make sure everyone's needs are met. We encourage thoughtful discussion and collaboration that is inclusive and focused, making sure everyone has a seat at the table and is given the right tools designed to create her Purpose Project, or take it to a new level.
The journey continues after each trip as our Vaera Tribe gains access to our exclusive, private network of professional contacts, all designed to offer support and inspiration to bring your Purpose Project to life. Not only this, we get under the skin of a destination, with insider activities to help you see a place from a new point of view, and use your experiences with your fellow travelers as way to bond.
About our founder
Meagan Drillinger is a freelance travel writer and entrepreneur based in both New York City and Mexico. In 2014 she traded in her cubicle for literally everywhere else. Since then she's developed a life in two worlds: one is out of a suitcase, the other is in New York/Mexico.
Since 2009 she has been traveling the world professionally and has always been amazed at how travel became an organic backdrop for collaboration and networking, especially among women. In fact, Vaera Journeys was created while Meagan was hiking in the Catskills with her childhood friend. The two were brainstorming about ways to take their careers to the next level, and it was this that was the main inspiration for Vaera Journeys - to bring women together to beautiful destinations, provide them with exclusive access to already successful entrepreneurs, allow them to bond, network and learn, all the while experiencing a foreign culture.
When she's not passport stamp collecting, she's living in Queens, New York, or Puerto Vallarta, Mexico writing for publications like Thrillist, TimeOut New York, Travel + Leisure, Men's Health, HealthyWay, and more. She is also the Mexico editor for Travel Weekly magazine.
